The whole barn is interlinked and has a central courtyard, where all doors open and all windows look out to. You always feel a part of everywhere else.
The Main Barn is linked to all the other areas. The beams are original and characterful. It is a stunning, magnificant room, full of character and warmth. The walls are cob and stone helps to create a very natural charm.
Lots of natual light and fantastic lighting helps create a wonderful atmosphere. The large windows and doors, offer exellent views into the courtyard and beyond.
The main barn offers the space for ceremonies, eating and dancing.
The balcony is a lovely breakaway space. You’re still very much part of the barn and all that’s happening, just a little quieter. It’s the perfect place to relax and watch everything unfold below.
We’ve also seen the balcony used for games, a homemade photo booth, displaying photographs, or personal touches that make the space feel like home.
When guests arrive, the Linhay is a great area to meet and greet, as well as mingle, have a drink and enjoy the ambience, relax and get into the day. It is a natural extension from the courtyard outside.
This has our bar, full of rustic charm. We offer local ciders (including our own) beers, lagers and spirits, as well as some of the old favourites.
Our staff are local and are there to help in any way they can.
In the winter the wood burning stove will be on, as well as the underfloor heating.
At the end of the Linhay we have a piano, waiting to be enjoyed.
We have a courtyard central to the barns, south-facing and walled, creating the feeling that you are in your own world – private, peaceful, and entirely exclusive.
The courtyard offers a variety of spaces to enjoy. There’s a terrace where we’ve welcomed musicians, a grassed area perfect for games, and a patio for sitting, chatting, and relaxing. A covered area works beautifully for hog roasts, and there’s also a space ideal for street-food style catering.
All doors and windows open out into the courtyard, creating a wonderful indoor-outdoor feel. The courtyard is accessible via two separate entrances.
The Little Barn offers a wonderful setting for your ceremony, as well as a beautiful spot for photographs.
It is set amidst the beautiful orchard, which is stunning throughout the year – from spring blossom and green leaves to apples or just the soft silhouettes of the trees.
Surrounded by nature, you can enjoy birdsong and the gentle scent of blossom or apples.
The rows of apple trees also make a stunning backdrop for your photos.
Our apples are grown for Thatchers Cider, as well as a small amount of our own. This means you can make your way to the bar and enjoy a cider made from apples grown in the very orchard where you may have just got married!
This room is often used for getting ready, allowing you to be on site and enjoy a quiet walk around the barn before guests arrive. You can hear the gentle hustle and bustle as people begin to gather and chat.
It’s a practical space for toiletries and spare clothes, and a calm place to step away for a moment when needed.
When children are part of the day, the room is also incredibly useful, offering a gentle escape for feeding mothers, quiet moments for grandparents, or simply somewhere to take a breather throughout the celebration.
