Every wedding is special and unique and your wedding matters to us.
We want your wedding to become everything you want it to be – whether it’s hosting your celebrations at The Corn Barn, or if you’d also like to exchange vows in one of our stunning settings. As your sole point of contact during your communication with us, we enjoy getting to know you and hearing about all the ideas you have in mind for your big day which, with our professional and flexible approach, we strive to fulfil wherever possible. The little things matter to us too!
We deliberately limit the number of weddings we host at The Corn Barn, allowing you time and space to prepare and adorn the venue as you wish, making it your own space. It is our aim that you, and your guests, should feel very much at home during your time with us and with this in mind, you are very welcome to arrange visits to the barn whilst planning your wedding, where we will be on hand to greet you and any family, friends or suppliers that may accompany you.
We’re here to guide and support you as much or as little as required throughout the planning process and the big day itself, ensuring as pleasant and stress free an experience as possible. Whether you’d like to do everything yourselves or would rather it was all done for you, we work closely with you at the level you require and to the budget you have set.
Weddings at The Corn Barn are unhurried and easy going and very much about you as a couple. So whether it’s a small intimate gathering of 20 – 30 people or a larger affair up to our maximum of 180 seated guests, we go that extra mile to help things run smoothly and give you, and your guests, the most memorable of days.
You may, if you are getting married here, want to get ready in the annexe, have a last look at the layout, the flowers and make sure all the last finishing touches are complete, alongside those that you have chosen to be with you in the morning.
After the ceremony, (whether here or elsewhere), guests can mingle in the Linhay and courtyard. With the Linhay opening out into the courtyard, it keeps everyone together. You can then be greeted by your guests as you walk out, or if you have got married elsewhere you can come sweeping into the courtyard in your chosen method of transport and be greeted this way.
This then is a lovely time to be with your guests and have some photos taken.
Come the evening festivities, you will find people enjoying the whole area, as it is so interlinked and everyone is aware of all that is going on and there is a real relaxed atmosphere. Dancing takes place on the dance floor in the main barn, where there are people sitting, chatting and watching. The courtyard is enjoyed, sometimes games can be found in the loft or Linhay, but the party stays together.
We are fully licensed for civil ceremonies at The Corn Barn, whether inside the barn, outside in the courtyard, or in the idyllic setting of our Cider Orchard. We have also had some beautiful humanist ceremonies here too.
We will be on hand to assist guests and discreetly manage your ceremony, limiting the risk of any unwelcome hitches during the exchanging of vows.
To arrange your wedding at the Corn Barn, choose your date, pay your deposit, choose whether you want to get married here, in church or else where. If you are booking the registrar, call the Mid Devon Registry office.
